The eleventh edition of a festival titled “Miredita, dobar dan” (good afternoon/day in Albanian and Serbian respectively), will take place in Belgrade June 27 to 29, merging the art and contemporary art scene as well as important topics of the past and the future “in the time of major challenges to relations between Serbia and Kosovo,” the non-governmental organization (NGO) the Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR) said on June 11.
“’Miredita, dobar dan’ is a unique platform for cultural exchange and also the dialogue on important issues which are being avoided or neglected. Cultural exchange is a powerful tool for promoting reconciliation and sustainable peace as well as for bridging the gap between the two cultures, and we call on all to join us,” YIHR said.
Aside from the artistic program, the festival will feature debates focusing on cultural exchange between Serbia and Kosovo, that is, “bans and barriers to cultural, academic and artistic cooperation, and facing war burdens/legacies.”
Entrance to the festival is free, while program is available at the festival’s official site. The event is organized by NGOs YIHR, Civic Initiatives and Integra from Kosovo.
