Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that in a phone talk with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, they have agreed to hold a summit of the two countries’ governments in Belgrade by the end of the year.
“An excellent talk with Giorgia Meloni about the geopolitical developments, the situation in the region, bilateral cooperation, and Serbia’s EU path. We agreed to hold a summit of our two countries’ governments in Belgrade by the end of the year,” Vucic wrote on his Instagram in the evening on July 15.
He also said that Serbia highly appreciated cooperation with Italy as one of its most important political and economic partners, and thanked Rome on its support to Serbia’s EU accession process.
Meloni had underlined Italy’s interest in preserving peace in the region, Vucic wrote on his Instagram, adding that activities relating to EU enlargement to the Western Balkans had been proposed.
“We are grateful to Giorgia Meloni for the friendship and Italian investments in Serbia, and we agreed to resume the talk at the meeting of the European Political Community, to be held in London on Thursday, July 18,” Vucic said on Instagram.
