According to a Sept. 9 statement by Bojan Pajtic, a professor of the Novi Sad School of Law and the former head of the Democratic Party, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic serves foreigners like the magical wishing fish from folklore: all they have to do is rub his tummy and he’ll grant them a wish.

In an interview for nova.rs, Pajtic claimed that Vucic has so far delivered on all the desires of foreign politicians: from promising to mine lithium, through committing to build nuclear power plants, to purchasing French Dassault Rafale fighter jets.

“He knows that his position of power currently depends on the West and acts accordingly,” Pajtic concluded.
