The speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, stated on Oct. 2 that the scenario of the incident in Banjska one year ago, which he referred to as terrorism, was identical to Russia’s occupation of Crimea in 2014.

Konjufca added that Russia had not given up on the Russian world and that Serbia had not given up on the Serbian world, either, while the purpose of the attack in Banjska was the annexation of northern Kosovo.

In his address at a conference titled “Influence of Russian aggression in Ukraine on European Geopolitics,” Konjufca said that Belgrade was “Russia’s second capital in Europe,” since it was attempting to destabilize Bosnia and Herzegovina and refusing to normalize relations with Kosovo.

“The terrorist attack in Banjska disclosed Serbia’s true goal, which is not a normal goal. That is the goal of the Russian Federation… In the regional and Balkan context, Russia’s aggression (in Ukraine) represents the first act of the strategy of a broader destabilization of the Balkans, wherein Serbia, as the extension of Russia, would be the second chapter of this strategy,” he stated, adding that Serbia never condemned Russia’s aggression on Ukraine and refused to impose sanctions on Russia.
