The opposition in Novi Sad has called on citizens to express their protest on Nov. 15 due to the fact that no one has been suspected of the Nov. 1 tragedy at the city railway station, by stopping whatever they are doing from 11:52 a.m. to 12:06 p.m.

"Let all of Novi Sad stop for at least those 14 minutes," reads a statement signed by nine parties and movements.

Freedom and Justice Party Vice President Marinika Tepic said that she would be joining the action, which would remind citizens that none of those responsible for the accident in Novi Sad - which killed 14 people and left three severely injured when the train station's outdoor concrete canopy collapsed - had been incarcerated yet.
"We will join the city opposition in Novi Sad and stop the city for 14 minutes. We will be standing on pedestrian crossings," said Tepic.

She said the authorities were to blame for the tragedy and were refusing to do anything about it, adding that the case should be handled by the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime rather than the Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad, because the latter lacked the capacity for it.

"All evidence from the station has vanished and that additionally upsets people," said Tepic.
