Nov. 21 marks the third consecutive day that opposition assemblymen have been blocking the entrance to Novi Sad’s Courthouse and has already seen another scuffle break out between the protestors and the police guarding the building, around 8:30 a.m.
The tussle led to several assembly representatives falling to the ground and one officer dropping his baton, and also damaged the entrance railing and front door.
The protestors have been demanding the immediate arrest of all those responsible for the Nov. 1 tragedy, where 15 people died in the sudden collapse of a concrete overhang at the city’s recently-renovated main railway station.
The opposition representatives are also requesting the release of all demonstrators who were arrested in the mass rally following the devastating accident, where more than 20,000 people took to the streets of Novi Sad on Nov. 5.
