On Feb. 27, members of the New Democratic Party of Serbia and the Movement for the Restoration of the Kingdom of Serbia blocked the construction site of the EXPO 2027 specialized exposition, in the Belgrade suburb of Surcin, stating that the project is a symbol “of corruption, conceit and President Aleksandar Vucic’s traitorous regime.”
“Corruption killed 15 people in Novi Sad, spurring university students and the general public to begin protesting. This is our way of opposing the regime,” New Democrat leader Milos Jovanovic stated regarding the blockade.

According to the parties, the protesters have blocked road access to the Surcin construction site with their vehicles, maintaining that “there will be no peace until the regime agrees to the formation of an interim government,” whose main job will be to finally ensure free and democratic elections in the country.
