A rally in support of Nikolina Sindjelic, a student of the Faculty of Political Sciences, titled “We Are All Nikolina”, was held in Belgrade on Aug. 19.
The protest, organized by a group of women in Belgrade’s neighborhood of Cerak, was held outside the headquarters of the Unit for protection of special persons and facilities in the Sarajevska Street, and ended outside the Government building.
Student Nikolina Sindjelic has accused Marko Kricko, the commander of the Unit for protection of special persons and facilities, of physical and sexual abuse while she was taken in after the Aug. 14 protest in Belgrade.
Nikolina has told BETA that she is ready to bring her case against Kricko beyond Serbia’s borders and that she will do everything in her power to make sure that this will never happen to anyone again.
The legal team that will represent the female student is collecting evidence for filing a criminal complaint against the commander and other members of the Unit for protection of special persons and facilities.
