Serbian Environmental Protection Minister Sara Pavkov has signed contracts on subsidies for afforestation and the planting of green spaces in 28 local governments in Serbia.
Pavkov said the projects were very important because they were part of a set of measures to improve air quality. "Based on contracts we have signed, we will continue with planting drives across Serbia. The ministry I head has been contributing year in, year out through co-financing afforestation and green space planting projects in towns and municipalities. Since 2020, through our public contests, Serbia has become 350,000 seedlings richer," Pavkov said.
She went on to say that the ministry would continue this support in the years to come as it is an important contribution to air quality improvement. The ministry has earmarked RSD112,3 million this year for the realization of this type of project.
