The chief negotiators of Belgrade and Pristina, Petar Petkovic and Besnik Bislimi, met in Brussels on Sept. 11 within the new round of the EU-mediated dialogue.

Earlier, the members of the Serbian and Kosovo delegations had separate meetings with the EU’s special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Peter Sorensen.

In August, Sorensen had talks in Pristina and Belgrade with the two sides’ officials. The Sept. 11 round of the dialogue took place two days ahead of the start of the local election campaign in Kosovo.

The most recent round of dialogue at the level of chief negotiators was held in Brussels on June 10, and the leaders of the two sides last met in September 2023, several days before the clash between an armed group of Serbs and the Kosovo police in the village of Banjska in northern Kosovo.
