The parliamentary sitting would have been interrupted if the attack in the tent encampment of government supporters outside the parliament building had really been a terrorist one, Milos Pavlovic, an MP of the opposition People's Movement of Serbia has said.

He told the Danas daily that the regime was trying to manipulate the electorate, hence the terrorism story.

"They are trying to accuse those who have been protesting against the government and demanding the calling of elections for almost a year now of that incident," said Pavlovic.

On Oct. 22, the individual V.A. was arrested after having entered one of the tents in front of the parliament building and fired multiple shots at one M.B., wounding his leg.

While that was happening, the parliamentary sitting was in progress and voting on a whole host of bills was not interrupted.

A few hours later, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic described the attack as an act of terrorism, while the prosecutor's office called it attempted murder and causing general danger.
