Police trade association Dr Arcibald Rajs (Archibald Reiss) on Oct. 31 called on citizens to cooperate with the police in Novi Sad during the marking of the anniversary of the death of 16 people in the collapse of a concrete canopy at the city's main railway station, so that everything could pass peacefully and without incident.
The association stated that the Ministry of Interior had taken measures to preserve public order and security at the commemorative gathering and appealed to all to ensure that the event passes peacefully.
The Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) has urged the authorities to enable all media reporting from Novi Sad to work in an unobstructed manner, and the police to protect journalists from potential violence and to refrain from the excessive force they showed at previous rallies.
On Nov. 1, the anniversary of the fatal train station canopy collapse, which killed 16 people and seriously injured one person, will be marked in Novi Sad.
