Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on April 15 that the security situation was "somewhat more complex" than in January "primarily because of the efforts and further activities of the military alliance of Zagreb, Tirana and Pristina."
After meeting with the most senior representatives of the Army of Serbia and Defense Ministry, Vucic announced that Serbia would sign "very important contracts on the procurement of weapons systems and military equipment" in the next few days.
"We have big and important visits ahead, where we are expecting additional contracts with other countries. We have placed big orders for our military. We will have such capabilities that nothing will get past us. We will see everything -- from strategic aviation in neighboring territories to those tanking up foreign aircraft at long distances from Serbia," Vucic said after the meeting in Belgrade, which included the leadership of Republika Srpska.
He went on to say that Serbia would build "an exceptionally strong, multi-layered anti-aircraft defense," which he said would involve electronic jammers, electronic countermeasures, equipment, weapons and munitions to protect troops, cities and infrastructure.
