A seminar called, The State of Israel's Market and Kosher Certification, opened in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce while the participants will learn about the key procedures for receiving official confirmation from authorized rabbinical organizations that food, drinks or other products were prepared in accordance with Jewish religious laws.
A statement said that the seminar includes workshops where the participants will be acquainted with the specifics of kosher certification for plant, dairy and meat products. Serbian Chamber of Commerce presidency director in Jerusalem Aleksandar Nikolic told reporters that the objective of the seminar is to allow companies to get acquainted with the importance of and the process of kosher certification, as well as the business opportunities that the Israeli market offers.
He said that exports of agricultural and food products to Israel grew by 52 percent in the period from 2023 to 2025 and now equals over USD68 million. Nikolic said that the certificate is not a legal requirement and that obtaining it is demanding for Serbian companies.
Serbian Chamber of commerce deputy president Mihailo Vesovic stressed that exports to the Israeli market over the past four years increased fourfold, while total trade grew by three times "regardless of the specific circumstances in which business cooperation is unfolding in."
