President of the New Democratic Party of Serbia Milos Jovanovic said on June 4, in comment of the deportation of 87 Serbian citizens from Tivat for security reasons, that the “operation of sending goon squads to Montenegro was insane” and that, as a whole, it was “a massive embarrassment for the state.”

“I still do not understand what was the aim; this situation has shown that Aleksandar Vucic has lost his compass,” Jovanovic told Blic TV, adding that there was no logic in the explanation that they were supposed to care for the president’s safety, because that was the job of the Montenegrin police and Serbian security services.

“All this that happened in Tivat and the recent murder in the Senjak [quarter in Belgrade] shows how much the state is criminalized, how tight the connection between the authorities and organized crime and how much they have lost their compass,” Jovanovic stated.

On June 3, the Montenegrin police banned entry for 87 Serbian citizens who arrived in Tivat on a charter flight from Belgrade, after assessing that “their presence in the territory of Montenegro will pose a risk to internal and national security.” It has been established that the arriving individuals had attended “numerous public gatherings of high security risk, and that some of them have been registered as perpetrators of crimes or misdemeanors with elements of violence.” The mentioned Serbian citizens have been found in possession of a banner reading “Serbia Wins,” a device for remote communication and a nautical radio station.
