Movement of Free Citizens vice-president Aris Movsesijan said on July 16 that Serbia has no foreign policy but a president who "chooses a different direction each day."
"While other countries are progressing to the EU, Vucic is keeping us on a road with no signposts leading to ruin," Movsesijan said in a statement, commenting on why Serbia was the only participant that did not sign a joint direction at a Ukraine-South East Europe Summit.
He added that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's rhetoric "which is looking at the EU with one eye, and the Kremlin with the other, has lost all credibility." "He is telling European partners that Serbia is committed to membership in the EU, while signaling to Russia that he is not going to adjust foreign policy with the states that he allegedly wants to join," Movsesijan said.
He stressed that Serbia cannot lead a policy of wandering between different geopolitical power centers. "Serbia is not a pirate island that can change flags, directions and allies depending on the authorities' current interest. The EU is our largest market, our most important economic partner and space to which we naturally belong," Movsesijan said.
