Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is on Sept. 18 taking part in a meeting of the Ukrainian Carpathian Integration Initiative, at the invitation of his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.
Vucic said this is an important project of economic, transportation and infrastructural connectivity of the countries of the wider Carpathian region.
In a video posted on his Instagram, Vucic said that in recent days the prime ministers of the Czech Republic and Poland, Andrej Babis and Donald Tusk respectively, have made serious statements about how people in Europe are facing hell, adding that judging by petroleum prices those statements are not far from the truth, and that one of the reasons for this gathering is exactly the economic connectivity of the wider Carpathian region.
Vucic went on to say that Serbia believes that in transportation connections, especially to Romania and Hungary, and also to Ukraine and Poland, "has much to offer, from railways, roads to more open borders, to better cooperation in agriculture and all other areas."
The Serbian president also said that he believes much will be done at the meeting, including examining all the difficulties facing the aforementioned countries and how they can try to overcome them together. He added that he is particularly looking forward to meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.
