On Oct. 21 – ahead of the final rally of Student Ticket - The Students Will Win, to be held in downtown Belgrade on Oct. 22 – surgeon and ticket candidate Aleksandar Cvetkovic urged the public to refrain from initiating or answering provocations because what the country needs above all is peace.
Speaking for the Danas daily, Cvetkovic said that the upcoming Oct. 25 elections will constitute a choice between youths carrying the Constitution and tattooed criminals carrying clubs.
The surgeon, who was removed as a mentor of the Kragujevac U School of Medicine due to his support to the university student movement, stated that he chose to take the students’ side with full awareness. He went on to say that he always tries to adhere to the criteria of justice and truth – and always will – adding his regret that “many people, oftentimes even intellectuals, bow their heads even though they know something is wrong.”
The final campaign rally of the Student Ticket is set for 6 p.m. at Belgrade’s Slavija square.
