Minor Killed in Attack on Israeli Embassy

In the night of Oct. 27, a member of the Gendarmerie guarding the Embassy of Israel in Belgrade shot and killed a male minor in what the Ministry of Internal Affairs has dubbed an “attempted terrorist attack.”

Believed to hail from Sabac, the youth attacked the officer with two knives while exclaiming “Allahu Akbar.” The officer killed the assailant in self-defense, sustaining minor injuries in the altercation.

Following the incident, the Interior Ministry raised the country’s terror alert to code red, i.e. the highest level.
