U.S. President Donald Trump congratulated North Macedonia on the Independence Day on Sept. 8, reaffirming his country's support to North Macedonia on its path to the European Union (EU), the Office of the President of North Macedonia reported on Sept. 2.
The Office said that President Trump's letter of congratulation was delivered to his North Macedonian counterpart by the U.S. ambassador to North Macedonia, Kate Marie Byrnes.
"The United States is proud of being your ally, supporting North Macedonia's aspirations for further European integration and your path to EU membership," Trump wrote in the letter to Pendarovski and the citizens of North Macedonia.
