Vladimir Bilcik, a member of the European Parliament, said on Nov. 4 that Europe was watching what was going on in Montenegro, and that the situation was serious, suggesting that a new vote be held as soon as possible.

“When we say we are voicing concerns, it means the situation is very serious. There is a fear that the fundaments of democratic institutions in Montenegro have been threatened and seriously shaken. We are looking at an institutional crisis, a crisis of law, a constitutional crisis and an economic crisis,” Bilcik said, answering reporters’ questions in the Parliament of Montenegro.

“The answers to these concerns must be found within Montenegro, within the boundaries of the Constitution,“ however imperfect it may be, and within the framework of the law, culture of dialogue, compromise and mutual understanding.” “The only winner in this must be Montenegro and its institutions. This has nothing to do with any political party. The point is to make it possible for Montenegro to win,” Bilcik said at a press conference after an Assembly of Citizens in the Parliament building.
