North Macedonia's President Visits NATO Command in Belgium

The president of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, visited the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Mons, Belgium, on Dec. 7, where he met with Supreme Allied Commander Europe Gen. Christopher Cavoli.

According to the statement of the office of North Macedonia's president, Pendarovski was informed at the meeting about the Headquarters' current activities and about the strengthening and adapting of forces after the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, with the aim of protecting the NATO allies and reducing of the risk for the conflict to spread.

The statement reads that the president of North Macedonia and commander-in-chief of its armed forces had reiterated the country's readiness to actively contribute to the Alliance's efforts in fulfilling the strategic goals, maintaining regional security and strengthening of NATO unity.

Pendarovski stated that North Macedonia would continue to provide, within its possibilities, military, humanitarian and diplomatic assistance to Ukraine, towards the final goal of ending military aggression, defense of democratic values and establishing of peace. During the visit, President Pendarovski also met with members of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia who are assigned to the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, based in Mons.
