On Oct. 20, the U.S. introduced sanctions against Gorica and Igor Dodik, the daughter and son of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, along with the companies that they hold stakes in.

"Igor and Gorica Dodik are key parts of Dodik's support network and enable his corruption. They took Republika Srpska public funds and those of the people to increase their own wealth," the U.S. embassy in Sarajevo said in a press release. The statement added that they supported "destabilizing policies, acts and rhetoric contesting and undermining the sovereignty, territorial integrity and multiethnicity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including attacks on the Dayton Peace Accords and the Constitution."

"The U.S. will continue to use sanctions as a means to fight corruption and will insist on the accountability of individuals for their actions," the press release stressed. The U.S. also "blacklisted" the Agape restaurant, owned by Gorica and Ivana Dodik, the wife of Igor Dodik, the Agrovoce company, linked to Gorica Dodik, Fruit Eco, linked to Igor Dodik, and Global Liberty, with ties to both Igor and Gorica Dodik.

Milorad Dodik was "blacklisted" earlier for obstructing the Dayton Peace Accords. Dodik is also under sanctions by the United Kingdom.
