Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman said during a June 24 visit to Luxembourg that the Western Balkans should focus on resolving outstanding issues and fostering good neighborly relations in line with the European Union’s foreign and security policy.

"Internal and regional political stability remains crucial. Therefore, our partners in the Western Balkans need to focus on European reforms, the rule of law and fundamental rights in particular, resolving outstanding issues, and fostering good neighborly relations in accordance with the Union’s foreign and security policy," Radman said ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers.

The Croatian minister underlined that the Western Balkans should heal old wounds instead of opening new ones.

"Only by handling things in a manner that brings political stability and security both at home and abroad can transformation occur in a sustainable and irreversible way. I believe that this is the best investment in, and guarantee for the long-term stability of the region," he added.
