The Croatian National Bank Council on March 23 lowered the reserve requirement from 12% to 9%, for the purpose of releasing additional liquidity meant to enable the banking system and, consequently, the economy to overcome the current crisis situation more easily, a press release from the central bank has said.
The release underlines that by changing the reserve requirement the Croatian National Bank is also bringing its reserve requirement system closer to that of the European Central Bank, which it will switch to when it introduces the euro.
