The Montenegrin Pension and Disability Insurance Fund will this year again be short more than EUR90m.

The gap will be filled by money from state coffers, the institution's director, Dusan Perovic, has said. "The deficit for last year was 22.59%, whereas this year it is projected at 21%," Perovic told Radio Montenegro.

He also said that this guaranteed secure and regular payment of pensions and other expenditures of the institution, website RTCG reports. In his words, EUR300,000 has been earmarked for one-off aid, but it is uncertain how that money will reach socially endangered pensioners due to this being the election year.

Perovic expects that the new Pension and Disability Insurance Act will be passed in H1. He said that the Fund's budget this year totals EUR448.5m, which is enough for the regular payment of pensions.
