Serbian oil company NIS has sent an official request to the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for another postponement of sanctions, Serbian public service RTS reported on Aug. 22.
NIS has sent a new request for delaying sanctions because the last month-long extension expires on Aug. 27.
So far, the U.S. administration has extended NIS' operating license five times.
NIS is on the U.S. sanctions list over a majority Russian stake, which is why the company issued a special request for the removal of NIS from that list back in March.
