Political Chaos and Scandals
The coronavirus pandemic has revealed down to the smallest detail the non-functionality of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its institutions, which basically did not do anything for two and a half months because the decision-making centers for all important issues were completely in the entity and cantonal institutions. The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (central government) on March 17 declared a state of natural or other disaster in the territory of the entire country due to the coronavirus pandemic.
This decision was made a day after Republika Srpska declared a state of emergency, while the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina declared a state of disaster. A coordinating body for protection and rescue was also formed, but since the start of the epidemic no clear and detailed plan was established as to how the different levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina would act in the struggle against the disease that had hit the whole country.
