Serbian officials insist that the protests and blockades that have spread across the country have affected national economic trends. Experts, however, argue that the declining indicators in Serbia’s economy and public finances are a consequence of structural weaknesses, but also of the existing, now exhausted, growth models based on foreign investments and state projects, adding that a crisis has hit even the best of European economies.
