Serbian Public Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac called on citizens on March 23 to respect the decisions of competent institutions and experts dealing with the coronavirus outbreak, adding that anyone disobeying the imposed measures will be severely penalized and prosecuted as a threat to the society and state.
“I urge all citizens to respect, during the state of emergency, the decisions of the competent authorities, which pertain to and are made precisely for the sake of protecting and saving lives of all those who live and reside in our country. If not, they will be facing rigorous penalties, [and the possibility of] being prosecuted as a threat to the society and state,” said Dolovac for March 23 issue of Blic daily.
The prosecutor added that all public prosecutor’s offices are working around the clock to ensure the citizens’ safety and that special measures imposed by the competent state bodies during the state of emergency are being obeyed. According to Dolovac, all of the authorities’ decisions are made to protect lives and for that reason should be respected by the citizens.
According to Serbian Health Ministry’s evening report from March 22, 222 COVID19 cases have been registered in Serbia so far, including two coronavirus-related deaths.
