Kurti Kosovo Assembly (Beta/AP/Visar Kryeziu)
The Kosovo Assembly started a special session on March 25, to debate and vote on the motion of the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo and other deputies, for a no-confidence vote to the government of Albin Kurti.
The session was held under strict safety measures, including masks and gloves for all participants, a 1-1.5 meter distance between them and the prior medical control of all participants.
Ahead of the start of the session, many inhabitants of Pristina protested against the motion for a no-confidence vote being placed on the agenda, by banging on pots and pans from their balconies.
Before the session, the U.S. ambassador in Pristina, Philip Kosnett, met with the speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, Vjosa Osmani, the Koha.net has reported.
Kurti has stated that the calls for ousting the government had no connection with either sanctions or the U.S. troops' withdrawal, but with "one finished agreement on the exchange of territory between Kosovo and Serbia."
