In the past 24 hours three persons in Serbia died of the coronavirus bringing the toll to 61 and 247 people were registered as infected bringing the overall number to 2,447 people, according to an April 7 statement.
At a news conference Batut Institute deputy director Darija Kisic Tepavcevic announced that 1,074 people had been tested and that 247 people were registered as positive.She added that a total of 1,394 people had been hospitalized while 108 patients were on ventilators.
Epidemiologist Predrag Kon confirmed that isolation was now being carried out exclusively in hospitals and that by April 6 104 patients had been moved to an improvised hospital at the Belgrade Fair, 64 patients had been moved to the Nis Cair center and 38 to the Novi Sad Fair.
The exception, Kon said, were pregnant women, new mothers , handicapped persons and persons on hemodialysis and all patients with uncontrolled chronic conditions, but that the improvised hospitals was been made to treat coronavirus patients, but to stem the spread of the disease.
