Serbian parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic said on May 11 that the prosecutor's office "is lying low" instead of "responding urgently," as she believes Dveri (Doors) movement leader Bosko Obradovic to have committed a felony by attacking MP Marijan Risticevic.

"The prosecutor's office has to do something now, they have to at least tell the citizens of Serbia that there's no felony here, that nothing happened here -- that you shouldn't believe your eyes," Gojkovic told Prva TV.

She said "the prosecutor's office is independent" and that she did not know why they are "lying low somewhere and dare not say either one thing or the other," adding that TV footage showed what happened at the entrance of the parliament during a protest rally organized by Dveri on May 8.

According to Gojkovic, Obradovic recently "messed up terribly" and is now trying to use this hunger strike, "which is a staged performance," to paint himself "the victim, even though he's the bully because he beat Risticevic."
