According to the Anti-Corruption Agency’s statement from June 4, there are currently 120 observers monitoring the election campaign activities in Serbia.
“On behalf of the Agency, as field observers until the election day, or as coordinators until the day the final election results are announced, the observers are authorized to, without interference, collect information pertaining to the activities of political subjects, using audio and video recordings, digital photographs and gathered samples of election material,” the statement said.
The Agency recalled that the observers are professionally trained for objective and impartial collection of data, adding that they are neither candidates in the elections nor election board members.
“They are examples of good practice of citizen engagement in the political and election process, and the Agency therefore urges all political subjects, competent bodies and other participants in the election process to make possible for the observers to do the job they have been engaged for,” the Agency added.
