The State Election Commission had not received any guidelines for safety of voters and prevention of coronavirus spread at polling places for the upcoming elections, Pavle Dimitrijevic, representative of the Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability (CRTA) observation mission, who monitors the Commission’s work, has said.
“So far, the crisis team has issued no information or guidelines on safety of voters at polls,” Dimitrijevic has told BETA.
State Election Commission President Vladimir Dimitrijevic has earlier said that protective equipment – face masks and gloves, will be at disposal of all polling boards, but it is still unknown whether the protective equipment will be mandatory for the voters or whether some other prevention measures will be applied.
Although the parliamentary and local elections are scheduled for June 21, many things remain unknown: the number of voters allowed at polls at the same time, whether masks and gloves will be mandatory for board members and voters, whether the same pen will be used, and other details.
According to the latest figures, Serbia has reported 255 deaths related to Covid-19 and 12,637 coronavirus cases.
