A Swiss government project called, For for an Active Civil Society Together - ACT, has issued two new calls for projects in the area of strengthening local communities in Serbia as well as projects for public advocacy on the local level, a June 25 statement said.
The deadline for handing in project proposals is July 20. "Our goal is to strengthen civil society organizations in Serbia, improve their skills and knowledge so that tomorrow they can actively encourage the engagement of citizens and articulate their interests in the community," national team program leader Ivana Cirkovic has said.
The call for submitting proposals for projects for strengthening local communities is intended for civil society organizations and informal citizens' groups, which, with the active support and participation of citizens, will create initiatives and drives directed at solving problems that are in the public interest in their local communities.
The Swiss government has allocated a total of EUR4.8m for realizing the first stage of the ACT program from Oct. 1, 2019 to Sept. 30, 2023.
