The program director of the Center for Research, Transparency and Responsibility (CRTA), Rasa Nedeljkov, has said that elections during the pandemic "are literally a question of life and death," explaining that the organization had not monitored legislative elections at the polling stations where elections were repeated.
"We have a situation in which elections are even being held in healthcare centers in cities where a state of emergency has been declared. The elections were also organized in private homes," Nedeljkov told the July 2 edition of Danas.
He also said that "you cannot go to the Serbian Cabinet to hand in or receive documents because everything has been transferred to the electronic level," and that, "The Republican Electoral Commission's sessions will also be conducted electronically."
"The state administration is fueling our doubts about the state's lack of responsibility where this critical situation is concerned," Nedeljkov said and recalled that members of voting committees were supposed to sit indoors in enclosed spaces for 14 hours, while the Republican Electoral Commission is organizing electronic sessions. "So, if everything is okay, why is the Commission holding electronic sessions?," Nedeljkov said.
