The Croatian Electoral Commission released a statement on July 2 that its decision to bar citizens with Covid-19 from voting in parliamentary elections was in accordance with the law and served a legitimate goal, which was protecting public health.
On July 1 the Commission partly revised its recommendations for going to voting stations, but the key provision on banning Covid-10 patients from voting remains. The Commission has also recommended that citizen check their temperature on the morning of July 5 and if it is higher than 37.2 degrees Celsius coupled with Covid-19 respiratory symptoms that they see a doctor.
Those infected will not be allowed to vote due to isolation measures, which includes no physical contact with other people, including members of voting committees. That means that the ban on voting at voting stations or from home strictly applies to active Covid-19 cases.
