Epidemiologist Predrag Kon said on July 8 there are signs that the epidemiological situation in Belgrade is improving.
“After three days we now have 400 to 450 suspected coronavirus cases per day, while before we had about 600, even more,” Kon told N1 TV.
He added that there are first signs that the situation is turning for the better, and that new covid hospitals are being opened for preventive reasons.
“It must be understood that the virus is still here,” Kon said and added that it is certain the virus will be contained within several weeks, but that a new wave may follow, whose strength will depend on collective immunity.
He also said that there are shortages in medical staff, and that new people have to be hired.
