Eight more people died from the consequences of the corona virus infection in Serbia in the past 24 hours, raising the total number of fatalities to 499, the Crisis Response Team announced on July 22.
Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar stated at the news conference of the Serbian government's Crisis Response Team that 11,521 people were tested in the past 24 hours and that 426 were positive.
There are 4,619 covid-19 patients in hospitals, 205 of them on ventilators. 580,271 people have been tested since the start of the epidemic in Serbia, with the presence of the virus having been confirmed in 22,031 cases.
Loncar stated that the percentage of positive test outcomes had dropped slightly, adding that there would be no problems with the availability of hospital beds in the next 48 hours. Still, he said, capacities are being increased for pre-emptive reasons in Cacak, Kraljevo and Pozarevac, because the number of examinations and hospital admissions in those cities is not diminishing.
