Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Aug. 14 that Serbia's weapons were much more modern and serious than before, and said the arms were not being purchased to attack anyone or wage war, but to keep the peace and the people's peace of mind.

Appearing in a morning program on Pink TV, Vucic said this was the result of accelerated growth and smart policies chosen by the citizens, and announced that Serbia was just getting started with arming.

Asked to comment on Albania acquiring drones like the U.S., he said these were not similar to Serbia's drones, because theirs were reconnaissance and Serbia's were reconnaissance and combat drones.

He said Albania had only ordered the aerial vehicles and that the delivery deadline was the end of 2022.

He further stated that Albania had high recruiting power and a huge number of young people, almost an entire generation more than Serbia, because they were a much younger nation. He noted that this was indeed a problem for Serbia and that a solution was being explored.

"The average age difference is some 17 years," Vucic specified.
