Over the past 24 hours a total of eight people died in Kosovo of the consequences of Covid-19 bringing the death toll to 488, the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo announced on Aug. 25.
In the same time, 471 samples from clinics, regional hospitals and the contacts were tested revealing 136 new infections for a total of 12,683 infections, out of 48,232 suspected cases.
The U.S. Embassy in Pristina announced on Aug. 25 that the U.S. had donated 50 ventilators to Kosovo as aid in fighting the coronavirus epidemic. The donation was realized through USAID as an expression of "President Donald Trump's generous offer for shipping critically needed equipment and support to Kosovo so that it can respond to the pandemic as urgently as possible."
