Albin Kurti (BETAPHOTO/HINA/Lana SLIVAR DOMINIC)
Acting premier of Kosovo Albin Kurti stated on July 2 that he would do everything for the new Assembly to be constituted by the end of July “in the spirit of cooperation among the political parties.”
After a two-hour meeting with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, Kurti stated that the legal deadlines were running out that that the constituting of the new convocation of the Assembly had to take place in the last week of July. “We will do everything we can for this to be accomplished in the spirit of cooperation, with the idea of a consensus or compromise, so that we could proceed toward forming the new government,” Kurti stated.
He stated that they discussed all the elements of the process of constituting the parliament during the meeting. On June 26, the Constitutional Court obligated the assembly members to constitute the assembly within 30 days.
Last weekend, a meeting was held on Kurti’s invitation with the representatives of all parliamentary parties, with the exception of the Serb List, but the participants failed to reach an agreement.
