Outgoing Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin said on Sept. 21 that the coalition partners are putting great pressure on Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic when it comes to the forming of the new government which, he added, he is not asking to be a part of.
“Appetites are big. There are many people who want to get more than they deserve. The Movement of Socialists is not asking for a ministerial position. I, Aleksandar Vulin, am not asking to be a minister in the government. I’ll be content if this politics is carried on further. If the personnel has to change, if the people are expecting a change, and they do, let it begin with me,” said Vulin for the Pink TV.
According to the Serbian Defense Ministry’s official statement, Vulin added that are no people for all seasons, but that he infinitely trusts Vucic and knows that Serbia does, too.
“Thanks to Vucic’s trust [in me], I have fought for Kosovo, I drafted the Labor Law; I protected Serbia from the migrant crisis; I was the minister of defense. Thanks to his trust, that’s as high as you can go in politics: to be a defense minister. After this, I don’t have to be anything else. I don’t even have to be in politics anymore,” Vulin said.
