Thirty new coronavirus cases have been registered over the past 24 hours in Serbia, out of the total 5,275 tested, while two more people died from consequences of the COVID-19 disease, according to a Sept. 21 press release.
There are currently 330 patients in hospitals, 23 of them on ventilators. The press release on the Health Ministry website reads that the death toll since the outbreak of the epidemic in Serbia is 743, while the total number of registered cases is 32,938.
Epidemiologist Predrag Kon said on Sept. 21 that the first case of coronavirus infection had been registered through the monitoring of citizens who had recently returned from vacation abroad.
Kon told Prva TV that he had received the information on the person infected with coronavirus over the past weekend, from a colleague in Novi Pazar. He reiterated that upon returning to the country, citizens should register on the appropriate website and added that so far 15,000 people had been placed under supervision.
