Belgrade Security Forum Starting on Oct. 6, Palmer, Lajcak and Hoti Among Participants

Special envoys of the EU and the U.S., Miroslav Lajcak and Matthew Palmer respectively, and Kosovo Premier Avdullah Hoti will take part in a panel discussion on the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue during the 10th Belgrade Security Forum, which begins on Oct. 6 and lasts all through October.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the foreign minister of an important European country are expected to confirm their participation in the discussion, too, Forum Program Director Marko Savkovic announced on Oct. 5.

Under the slogan No Trust - No Peace, the 10th Belgrade Security Forum will be held online due to the coronavirus pandemic, while according to announcements 25 sessions with more than 80 speakers and some 7,000 registered visitors will take place by the end of the month.

Aside from the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, other topics will be the future of the EU and the Western Balkans' European prospects, the U.S. presidential election, the relationship between technology and privacy, anti-EU narratives in the Western Balkan states, depopulation, and the crisis of democracy and solidarity. Speakers will also tackle issues such as populism, far-right nationalism and organized crime, and the lack of trust and solidarity in international relations, the organizers announced.
