Serbian Prime Minister-Designate Ana Brnabic has said that around one half of the new ministerial positions will be held by women and that two new ministries – one in charge of human and minority rights and the other of social dialogue – are surely to be formed.

On Oct. 18, Brnabic told the Pink TV that she cannot disclose the names of candidates or the potential coalition partners before she reveals them at the session of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party’s Presidency, and gets the support of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the rest of the party.

She promised to send her proposal to the National Assembly very soon, assuring that the new government will be formed “before long.” “The proposal is ready; I’ve worked hard on it with my team in the past ten days… The citizens will know what we want to accomplish by 2025,” Brnabic said.

The prime minister also confirmed the rumors that certain ministers went to foreign embassies for help and asked for support to keep their seats, saying that “it’s the worst possible thing anyone could do.”

“If a foreign embassy is lobbying for someone to be in the government, that person’s chances of being in the government are proportionally reduced,” she concluded.
