Inzko: Bosnia's Stability Jeopardized By Separatist Ideas of RS Representatives, Dispute Over Election Law

The international community's high representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Valentin Inzko, informed the U.N. Security Council on Nov. 5 that the stability and functionality of Bosnia and Herzegovina were jeopardized by the separatist policy of representatives of Republika Srpska (RS), as well as by the obstruction and blockades within the dispute over the amendments to the Law on elections, between the Croat and Bosniac sides.

"All the well-known problems in the country have been additionally complicated by the coronavirus pandemic," Inzko stated in the regular six-month report to the U.N. Security Council about the situation in Bosnia.

He also declared that "nationalist political elites showed in this crisis, too, that they do not want or are incapable of solving the real problems of the people." He added that "the risks produced by the promotion of the separatist policy in Republika Srpska" have not disappeared.
