The government of South Korea has sent Serbia medical equipment worth USD300,000 in support of the fight against COVID-19, the Serbian government's media office has said in a press release.
The delivery included three automated RNA extraction machines, extraction sets for 18,816 tests, diagnostic sets for 18,700 tests, and 19,250 pairs of latex gloves.
South Korean Ambassador to Serbia Hyoung-chan Choe said at the delivery ceremony at the Torlak Institute of Virusology, Vaccines and Sera that he hoped this equipment would aid in an effective response to the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that the three RNA extraction machines would help quick and accurate testing.
The South Korean embassy in Serbia additionally donated 5,000 protective masks (FFP-2 equivalent), and the ambassador voiced the hope that the masks would be helpful to health care workers on the front lines in the fight against the pandemic.
