The government of the Republic of Korea has donated USD100,000 in criminal investigation equipment to the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs to bolster domestic capacity for criminal investigation, the embassy said in a press release.

The donation, delivered on Dec. 17, includes a video recovery program, a video spectral comparator and IT equipment to bolster and advance the efficiency of criminal investigation in Serbia.

At the presentation ceremony, Bogdan Pusic, head of the Criminal Police Directorate, thanked South Korean Ambassador to Serbia Hyoung-chan Choe for the donation, noting that the delivery would help Serbia boost its capacities.

Ambassador Choe expressed pleasure at the delivery of the Korean digital video recovery program, developed in Korea using state-of-the-art technology, in addition to other IT equipment. He voiced the expectation that this high-quality equipment would be highly useful and help all experts at the Serbian National Forensic Center.

The ambassador added that in recent years South Korea and Serbia had worked to enhance their cooperation and exchange knowledge and technology in this specialized sector, especially during a visit by the Korean government delegation in December 2018.
